Eleven Months

Have been a bit slack about taking photos, will upload some soon. Lucas has been taking steps for over a month now & finally started walking last week. The last few days he has got quite confident & tries to walk all the time. Lucas still hasn't got any teeth although the bottom two don't look that far away.
Lucas is ending up in our bed most nights now. Two out of the last three nights he has slept through which has been nice but for a few weeks he has been ending up in our bed, half the time at 12-1am.
Lucas is saying ta, dad, mum & makes car/truck/bus noises, is pointing at everything & makes some animal noises.

Nine Months

Lucas is very quick at crawling now, and walking around the furniture & even standing unaided for a couple of seconds. He is very chatty. He loves books & ripping up paper. He also loves feeding himself.
He did his first drawing today.
He has started pointing to things. He will point to a light, and sometimes with books he will point to what you ask him.

Lucas has now turned into a little boy - he's no longer our little baby. He is crawling around everywhere, pulling himself up on everything & getting into everything. We took him to lindale this weekend & he loved all the animals, except when the sheep baa right in his face.
Lucas loves his food & scabs everything we have.

Update

Since the last time I updated the blog Lucas has been for his first swim, is sitting properly & doing a comando style crawl where he drags himself along the ground.

Holiday Feb 08

We went on just over a weeks holiday to Hamilton, Whangamata & Rotorua. Lucas was absolutely shocking at sleeping. He woke 3-4 times a night & ended up in our bed every night.

Over the last few weeks he has got a lot more vocal & moving around everywhere. He rolls everywhere & can twist around on the spot & in the last couple of day he has started pushing himself backwards. He is almost sitting. He will sit for a while then he will reach for something & fall over.

We went on a couple of walks while we were away & he loved it in the back pack.

This week Lucas has really started moving around alot. He can roll from one end of the room to the other and is pulling his legs under him.

He seems to love sleeping on his stomach & when I went in today he had his legs under him & bum in the air. He has decided that he only needs 2 sleeps a day. He was going down fine at 9am, 12pm & 3pm but last week started protesting it & we battled with him for an hour each time for him to go down. So I decided to let him dictate things & he only sleeps twice a day then going down at 7ish.

Yesterday I left Lucas & the phone on the bed & when I came back he had managed to ring his father & every time he heard Andre's voice he cracked up & was blowing bubbles in the phone.

He loves his fruit. I put a piece of apple in this muslin wrap & he loves sucking on it. He is starting to get frustrated when we eat in front of him.

Five Months

Lucas is 5 months old today. He has taken to sleeping in our bed. At night he goes down in our bed then we transfer him to the cot. He is sleeping through the night which is great. Often when we do manage to get him asleep in his cot we will find him at the top of the cot sideways on his side.

Since 4 1/2 months Lucas has been trying solids, but for the last week has wanted 1/2 jar of food in the evening. We gave him a piece of watermelon to suck on yesterday which he loved. He threw a tanty when it fell on the ground so had to get him a new one.

He is now 70cm tall & approx 8kgs.

He had a bad bout of eczema on Thurs/Fri last week so took him to the doctor & got some Hydracortizone & some moisteriser stuff & it has settled down.

19 Weeks

In his jumper & beanie his nana knitted him. He hadn't slept all morning in this photo & he was so tired he could hardly keep his eye's open - but he wouldn't give in.

Lucas is talking heaps now. I try & read him a story & he will talk over me (I think he's going to take after his uncle mitch). He has started laughing & likes playing boo. We weighed him yesterday & he is 8.1 kg now. He has decided that he will only sleep in our bed, so he sleeps in there during the day & at night we put him to sleep in our bed then move him into his cot. He is sleeping through the night most nights which is great. He's found his thumb again which is great. We're pretty sure he's teething. He is always chewing things & gets red cheeks & we think we can see some little teeth coming, but he hasn't been that grumpy with it.

We've given him a little bit of solids. We gave him a piece of apple to suck on last wednesday & he loved that. I've also given him a little bit of mashed banana, he's only had 4 spoonfuls at the most.
