One Week Old

Wide awake

Lucas is now one week old. He is waking every 3-4 hours for a feed. He has started being awake for a longer period now and a lot more alert. He feeds well but is a power chucker. You need to watch him just after you've given him a feed otherwise you could be covered in spew.

We went to the doctor's yesterday and got the doctor to check out his nappy rash. Just before his nappy was taken off he did a big poo. The doctor commented it was lucky his nappy was on. Next minute once his nappy was off he let rip again and got poo from one end of the doctors office to the other, which the poor doctor had to clean up.

Bath time

Had his second bath 27 August at 5 days old. Andre bathed him in front of the fire with Carlos looking on. Lucas loved it. He was having a good look at carlos.

Finally home. We ended up having to stay in hospital an extra day as his weight dropped from 4.5kg to 3.9kg so we topped him up with formula & had to express some extra milk to get the milk coming through quicker. Had a great night last night at home. Lucas has ended up in our bedroom & wakes up every 3-4hrs for a feed.

Day 2

Cuddles with dad

He's a thumb sucker. After he was first born he stuck his thumb in his mouth and every time you took it out he would stick it back in.

Daddy giving him his first bath. He didn't really enjoy it at all!

Lucas's first cuddles

Our first hold of Lucas. Healthy not so little boy. Was 9pound 15ounces born (4.5kg), the scan the day before was predicting 4kg.

His first feed.

Meeting the family. Hard to believe there is 9 wks between him & his cousin. Lucas was only 200grams lighter then Riley.

22 August - The big day

They decided that the baby was too big to come out naturally so here I am just waiting in the hospital for the ceaser to happen. We had to be at the hospital at 7 am. I wasn't allowed to eat or drink since the night before so I was starving.

All scrubbed up ready for the ceaser to happen

Lucas being born

Some of the following photos are a bit gory so proceed with caution.

Everything went well. Lucas was 9pound 15 ounces born (4.5kg) and the scans only predicted that he was 4kg. They also found that he was prosterior so I would have ended up having an emergency ceaser even if I had tried for a natural birth, so in the end it was the right choice (although we were disappointed when we heard that we needed a ceaser).
